Renovation of old house with barn
Hydronic system - Sphera Box

Air conditioning for residential
Sphera Box cascade system with a total of 26 kW: year-round comfort and quietness
The challenge
The building was an old house from the 1970s of about 180 m², to which a former barn of about 300 m² was also attached.
After conversion, 340 m² were converted into 3 terraced houses, heated with underfloor heating.
The building is located in an enclosed inner courtyard, which increases noise amplification under normal conditions.
The challenge was therefore to meet the thermal demand of the three residential units, the domestic hot water requirements for 5 persons and to ensure quiet operation.
After a detailed assessment of the renovated building, together with the customer we opted for a space-saving solution based on cascade-split heat pumps with a 16 kW Sphera Box as master and a 10 kW Sphera Box as slave unit.
The result
With this system, we were able to guarantee a pleasant indoor climate even on the coldest days and with a high demand for hot water. It was also possible, even under extreme conditions such as those of an indoor courtyard, to meet the customer's requirements in terms of quiet operation.
The cascade solution also made it possible to minimise the space required for the heating plant.
